I painted this as one of my final artworks during a week long course in Natural History Illustration at Jersey Zoo (Durrell Conservation Trust). The bird’s name was Chester and according to the keepers he had a reputation for being a bit grumpy… He looks rather majestic here but there’s still a bit of a glint in his eye that says he could turn any minute!
