Produced as one of my final works during a week-long course in Natural History Illustration at Jersey Zoo (Durrell Conservation Trust). We spent a couple of hours a day working from live observation and the rest using photographs we had taken ourselves around the park. I chose this striking bird for the beautiful textures in his ruffled feathers and his cynical beady eye.
